1/18 scale DAK Flak 88

I know,I know, is not a model kit BUT I repainted/weathered so it could pass as a modeling project!!!

This is a repaint/weathering job on a 21st Century toys Flak 88. This model is a true beauty in detail and accesories. One major drawback is that all glue assembled, making it quite hard to take it apart…in case some one want to do it!!! I posted two photos on how it looks out of the box unpainted.

The repaint/weathering is not compleat and there some minor parts missing on the model like one of the hand weels, these where removed for better painting and access to “back” areas and will be put back later.

This Flak 88 is going to be in a 1/18 scale(don’t ask why the scale!!) North Africa diorama which will include a Panzer 4(a LOT of work to be done to that one),tropical Kubelwagen, damage american/british truck and about 15 figures, all highly modified 1/18 scale ones.

Hope you like it!

Certainly a nice dressing-up of an otherwise unimpressive, pedestrian finish!

Now you have to commit to doing the Dragon 1/35 scale premium kit of this, and WIP it here! [:D]

Oh yes!!! I have one of those 1/35 Dragon kits and is going to be built in the Eastern Front markings/diorama…also with the Dragon 251 Stuka-fuss halftrack, I love those two kits!!!

Agree with the others, nice work dressing this one up. The planned dio sounds pretty impressive as well, ought to take up a lot of real estate! [tup]
