Ok guys, most of my armor doesn’t move but I got an RC T-34 for Christmas. Looks great but since it was almost completely assembled, (you just have to add the surface details), the instructions say nothing about disassembly of the upper and lower hull. I’ve remove all the screws that look like they hold the two pieces together but so far, no luck. I’m kinda afraid to apply too much muscle since I don’t want to break anything. Want to take it apart so I can look at future repairs and maybe updating the RC gear. Any one got any experience taking this thing apart…RickM
Rick, there’s a hole in the engine grill with a screw beneath it, did you get that? Once you open the top you can unlock the drivers hatch.
Hi TankDuel, haven’t been here for quite a while so I didn’t see your answer until today. Once I get this thing apart I’m going to see if I can rig some kind of speed control. This thing only goes full speed ahead or astern (sorry, ex-sailor talking). Also gonna see if I can fix the cannon flash and sound though the sound really is pretty cheesy…Thanks again…Rick Martin
hi rick-- i like radio control also-- i dont know to much about the trumpeter r/c system, but if you search for r/c tank sites, i know i have read somewhere about ‘retro’ fitting this tank with a tamiya full option speed control that gives full proportional speed to both motors–and you dont need the tamiya sound card if you dont want to[:D]–it is available as a separate part-- good luck to you-- treadwell- p.s. try this site for some help–www.world r/c tank headquarters-- i think it is in new zealand
hi again rick— www.tankhobby.com– has the information YOU NEED-- check it out man![8D]-- this guy has all the info for making your tank into what it should be-- he has a section devoted to fixing the wcm t-34/85-- hope it helps!— treadwell
Rick and Treadwell
I think this is the article Treadwell is referring to, it’s a short article I wrote on a very basic conversion of the T34 using Tamiya electronics http://www.rctc.co.nz/moterpool_2.htm
But there’s more than one way to skin a cat, as they say, and Nick’s site , www.tankhobby.com has a lot of good info.
Also, the correct web address for World RC Tank HQ is www.rctankhq.com
