1/16 Tiger Display Case?

Hey Guys,

I just wanna shout out to everyone who has been so helpful, this board is very friendly towards newbies. I appreciate that.

My question is how does one go about getting a display case big enought to hold a 1.16 Tiger I ? I’ve been checking around and can’t seem to find anything that size. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas or could point me in the right direction.

Thanks
-Dave

Hello Dave,

I haven’t seen anything on the market big enough for a 1/16 Tiger. I would suggest buying some plexiglass and wood from your local Home Depot and building one yourself. You could even buy/build a partial diorama showing the backdrop of rubble and other detritus of war and include it. There’s also a display base for the Tiger I that I’ve heard is being offered for sale on Ebay; check it out. Good luck.

Hi, Dave!
The few cased Kitties I’ve seen here in Japan were all in special custom-made or self-made cases. I don’t know of anything marketed specifically for 1/16 tanks (yet). You might have to special order one or do it yourself!
I recall there being an article about this in FSM some time ago.

Go to walmart, buy a 10 gal fish tank and turn it over on top of a base!![:p]

I imagine there’s not a lot out there since there aren’t many models and such that size out there. I would suggest looking around at model ship retailers and supply stores, they might carry them that size. Try Model Expo and look in the back of your FSM mag, I’ve seen adds there before.

Y’know Eric, thats not a bad idea… [#wstupid]… Seriously though…

ya know im not sure but I think some places you could have one custom made to ur specifications. I dont know for sure though.

Welcome to the forum ig88 and good luck trying to find a display for your tiger.

Thanks for the help everyone. I kinda liked the aquarium idea but a 10 gallon is too small. 15 gallon would fit just right, perhaps just added a wooden base with a router grove and you might have something! I have pics of my tiger, but havent figured out a way to post them.
