1/16 t-34/85 WIP

—hey guys -[:D]- here is some work I’ve been doing on my 1/16 T-34 turret and primary weapon–all shown is WIP and still needs some tweaking- especially the big 85 which is just set in the pics 'cause i was double checking fits and clearances-- in all honesty, the turret has been busting my chops something fierce,[:(] but i feel I am learning alot[tup]-- the first few pics are the pistol port which i chose to model in the open position-- next few are just build up of the structures connecting the hull power supply(rotary base junction) to the turret and conduit and the electrically driven gun elevation and traverse controls + rradio and intercom system-- last 2 pics are of the turret roof that I have made removable for display purposes-- still have to add 85mm shell storage and a couple of details on right side- all comments greatfully appreciated-- any questions happily answered-- thanks for looking – I appreciate your feedback-- tread[8D]

Looking great!

[:O] WOW,

[tup] What a great job. Between the three 1/16 builds here, [%-)] I wonder who will get to the bunker first!

Whoa Treadwell, that is amazing work! I’ve never seen the interior of a T-34 turret until now and I have you to thank!![:D] I’ve seen your posts of the hull interior and engine and must say that your patience, skills and determination are inspiring. You, terry35 and Yann Solo are doing great jobs with these huge T-34s! Thanks, thanks and thanks!!

Tread, my friend, your attention to details is simply amazing. [8D] Everything looks so real. The seat looks covered by real leather!! [:O]

This is truly one of the best build I have ever seen. Keep it up my friend! [:D] Keep those pictures coming [8D]

Speachless … totally AWESOME !!!

Ben

Treadwell your photos are a 2 edged blade. On the one the hand it makes me want to push all me aircraft off to the side (did I really just say that[:O])… On the other hand I won’t want to post WIP pics since they won’t measure up to the high standards you are setting here[;)] (you too YS)

Just outstanding work.

Not sure if you’ve considered this side effect or not Tread…but once you’re done you’re going to have to keep this one under lock and key in order to be able to sleep at night and not worry about it “coming to life” and terrorizing your household/neighborhood when you least expect it. [(-D] It’s got that level of realism to it, keep slugging away! [tup]

Wow! When I see work like that it makes me want to throw in the towell, sell off all my kits and give up modeling. On the other hand, though, it gives me something to aspire to.

Awesome pics treadwell! Would you mind posting a few pics of the model as far as it’s assembled with something like a paint bottle or pencil to show us the scale? I know that its much more massive than anything i’ve ever built, but I have problems with imagining scale. I saw the picture of the gun assembly sitting on top of a paint bottle, and wow is that huge! Great work!

This is fantastic Treadwell. Great details. And you answered a couple of question I had in the meantime.[swg]

That cut-out roof is way too cool.

—hey guys[8D]-- thanks for the positive feedback and taking time out to respond to my pics!-- I really appreciate it[:D]-- you are all to kind–

disastermaster – Yann will get to the bunker first![(-D]–but no worries!-- I will get there!

beav-- I currently have no good pics to show ‘scale’, but the 85mm gun measures almost 13 inches from shell catch basket to tip of muzzle

it has been a long ride for me, but hope to complete within 6 to 8 weeks-- thanks for looking – I leave you with these oldies from months ago-- [:D]-- tread

Holy cow. So, if some 1/16 scale Russians showed up, they’d be right at home, just bust it off and drive away.

this can give you a good clue of the size:

It’s a 1/35 M36 Jackson next to it.

This is actually A full scale tank Treadwell is building in his garage. Dont be fooled.[BG][dinner]

Man… man man… WOW!! great work, it’s paying off in loads man! The attention to detail is insane, as is the size of the kit! Gotta get me one of these!

This is jus’ sheer brilliance! The amount of work involved and close attention to detail is jus’ stunnin’. I agree with Bill, this looks jus’ like the real thing. Not that i’ve actually sat inside one, but you know what I mean.

I can imagine all weatherin’ pigments and other effects totally out of scale with this. Your gonna’ have to get it weathered with the real stuff!! [:D]

Beautiful work Tread thats all i can say it really does look like the real deal, im really close to buying one of these puppies but im not sure i have the patience.

Ron.
