Very cool The little truck is a great touch. I have a couple decals sets for this kit so I may do another - it’s a quick build as you know.

I do quite a bit in 1/144, although 72nd’s my preferred scale. This is the Platz 1/144 BAe Lightning, which come two-in-a-box.

Thanks guys. I often make the mistake of thinking small scale stuff should be quicker to build than larger scales, but for me it often needs more care and attention to detail so it doesn’t look clunky.

I think you did an awesome job on the 1/144 jets…just too tiny for me to even work on them though and the smallest scale I’ll deal with is 1/72 for big planes and 1/48 for everything else.
My eyes have changed over the years and sometimes it can be a challenge.
I do still like to freehand S.E.A. camouflage paint schemes though and with my own eyes have seen many variations that suggests the T.O. pages showing the paint schemes are like guidelines and not quite law.
At Castle A.F.B. the B-52 G/H’s when repainted were only painted on the first 2.5 to 3.5 feet from the leading edge of the wings with new paint, the rest was quite faded.

As a bit of a flight museum aficionado, I’d love to see that display someday. We have something similar at the Museum of Flight here in Seattle—a collection of more than 400 1/72 WWII aircraft built by one modeler and donated to the museum. It’s an incredible display.
As a guy who builds pretty much everything in 1/48, I can definitely see your point about 1/144. Truthfully, I’d love to build everything in 1/32 if I could get away with it, so 1/48 is already my compromise size. 
I just don’t think I’d enjoy working with the level of detail in 1/144, or even 1/72.
That said, I’m starting to pay the price for my commitment to 1/48. I’m already trying to figure out how I’m eventually going to display things like a B-1B, C-130 and Catalina, along with some of the other larger aircraft I have planned.
On the other hand, I’d love to build something like a C-5, and there are some aircraft where 1/144 is really the only practical option. So maybe someday you guys will drag me over to the dark side.

Yeah, that number is crazy. More than 400 aircraft in seven years! At my current building pace, I think it would take me about 100 years to accomplish the same thing.
And they are oll obviously “musium“ quality and built 40 years ago I think.
Seeing them all together in person is pretty incredible too. It really gives you an appreciation for just how much work went into that collection.

That’s really beautiful work, especially in 1/144. Getting that kind of clean detail and finish at such a small scale has to take some patience and a very steady hand (and great eyes!). After working on these, 1/72 must feel absolutely huge! I guess it’s all a matter of perspective.
