1/144 Space Shuttle Rocket Booster Decals

I’m in the process of refurbing my 1/144 scale shuttle complex I built when the kit first came out. Many years for handling, moving, etc have taken its toll. There is also an accumulation of dust!

I subjected the entire kit to a tub of Purple Power. Of course all decals came off along with the paint.

The complex itself has very few decals. I can live without those.

I’ve found decals for the 1/144 Revell shuttle itself from Real Space Models. (I hope they still have them)

However, I need decals for the two booster rockets. The decals are pretty basic, mainly lines and a few rectangles. Unfortunately I don’t have a decal inventory I could scavenge these from.

Painting by hand aint gonna happen!!!

Any ideas?

If the decals are dark color they are easy to make if you have an inkjet printer. You can look at old threads in the “decals” forum, or bring up questions if you need info on doing these. Also, I did an article in FSM in the January 2013 issue.

Revell is going to re-issue the shuttle complex early next year, maybe you can get new decals from them. There is also a fellow in England I think, who does a lot of photoetch for the kit and he has decals also if I remember right.
