1/144 Aircraft seats

Years ago, I purchased several sets of resin seats for 1/144 modern jets from (I believe) Verlinden. I’ve never been able to find these seats, or anything like them, again. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

I’ll steal a page from my better subject which is train cars at 1/160. Can’t see much, arrangement is more important than detail, backs bigger than seats.

Most Revell Germany 1/144 modern fast jets inculde seats which are more than good enough for the scale. As Bondo says, in this scale, less is often more. They’re cheap enough to buy just for the seats, if you have an inadequately-detailed kit of a subject which uses a similar seat.

Aeroclub also do white metal generic (actually based on the Martin Baker Mk.3) combined modern fast jet seats and pilots in 1/144:

which are good enough for everyday purposes. IN 1/144, a pilot fills up and conceals an inadequately-detailed cockpit (as seen on this Platz 1/144 Mitsubishi F.2):

really rather well.

Cheers,

Chris.

I would tend to agree with Chris, in 1/144 about all you’re going to see of the seat is the top, and that’s simple enough to detail with a few bits of styrene - because the pilot WILL fill up the cockpit like nothing you’ve ever seen. At least it was that way with my F/A-18C when all was said and done.

If you’re looking for some really, really nice modern pilot figures in that scale, go here: http://users.bigpond.net.au/ozmodsscales/Resin.html This guy does some great work. I’ve used the modern generic pilots, and WWII allied and Japanese pilots with good results.
