1/10 scale Great Hammerhead shark model, he's back!

Hello everyone

He’s back, I say that because most of you have seen this Great Hammerhead shark model before. Anyway, I had decided to change the color to Olive green because from what I read online they’re that color. This model used to be light grey, but to me the Olive green just looks great, and more natural on this particular shark species.

Oh the green is very convincing. Just the right level of gloss and the eyes look real. Two fins up!

Interesting. I did that kit (btw whatever happened to the guy that makes these - pinged him several times in the past - great stuff). I think I got the kit after seeing yours. Mine is still gray

The maker of the kit had a bunch of subjects in the planning stage, so it would be awesome if he is still in business. I also bought the hammerhead after seeing the OP’s model. I followed up and got an Archelon prehistoric sea turtle from him. He seemed like a nice guy and responded to my inquiries back in the day.

The sculpting is just lovely!

Hi keavdog

I to tried a couple of times to get hold of this guy on a Mako Shark he was supposed to come out with, and he became unavailable!

By the way, I said it before and I’ll say it again, you did an excellent job on your Great Hammerhead shark model, I really like the way you did the shading on yours!

Yes I agree RealG, the sculpting on that Archelon Sea Turtle is off the charts beautiful!

He seemed like a nice guy to me also, but for some reason he became unavailable!

I think that the green is perfect for this species. It looks very good. Reminds me of that Pegasus Great White that I built a few years ago.

Hi MR_TOM_SCHRY

Thanks

I built that Pegasus model of the Great White shark also, and I believe you have seen it, as I have it posted on this forum,

I just want to add that the Great Hammerhead shark as you probably know varies in color depending on what region of the world they’re in, therefore I could have left it in the light grey when I painted this shark the first time, however I just like it better in the Olive green, that color just makes it stand out more!

A friend’s dad once landed a small hammerhead shark while we were fishing, and I seem to recall it was a kind of pinkish-tan color.
