007 Lotus Esprit sub car now out

Lol That’s the exact version Esprit I want to get my hands on, yellow S1 with the gaudy plaid oppulstry, because well…why not? XD

Bashmonkey, are you in the US? If so, I might be able to help you. Only available in white though. PM me if interested.

I don’t care, if Bond was driving it plaid was cool!!! you know Q wouldn’t put anything not cool on a gadget!

And yeah, implausible??? It’s a Bond movie- just sit back and enjoy the darn thing!

I definitely enjoy the Bond movies…

These days, I find the comedy of that era moore [whstl] entertaining than I did during the 1980s…[;)]

murdock1.JPGroger_moore.jpg

Yeah, Moore’s silliness does make me roll my eyes at times but I find I like it more and more as I get older. I think the new Craig movies could use a little fun instead of all the dark brooding seriousness- maybe it’s just me but Bond should be fun.

On the DVD for ‘Man With The Golden Gun’ they relate Moore and Chris Lee did stage work together and knew each other for years. Moore kept up a series of Dracula jokes with Lee the whole time. Finally when they’re filming the two walking into Scaramanga’s island cave a flock of bats shot out and apparently Lee just slowly turned to Moore with a ‘I don’t even want to hear it’ look on his face…

And lol, I watched the ‘Cab Wars’ episode of the ‘The A-Team’ a little while back and Schulz and Mister-T always cracked me up but I loved this one:

Murdoc: ‘Hello! I’m Captain Cabbie and (holding up sock puppet) this in my faithful sidekick Sockie!’

B.A.: ‘Well I’m B.A. Baracus and (holding up fist to Murdoc’s nose) this is my sidekick KNOCK-OUT! You wanna hear him TALK!?!’

Murdoc: (small voice) ‘no…’

Hopefully mine shows up in the next few days. It shipped just over a week ago from Japan.

A few other Bond related kits you may have missed (some are not cheap):

Fantastic Plastic - Spectre Bird One (You Only Live Twice) 1/72nd Scale - looks nice with the Dragon 1/72nd scale Gemini. Can be built in launch or ‘jaws’ open configuration and comes with a Russian space capsule.

Bam Bam Production - Carver’s Stealth Boat (Tomorrow Never Dies) 1/350th scale resin kit.

Airfix - Little Nellie (You Only Live Twice) - currently unavavailable but you might find it on eBay

Italeri - Silva’s Merlin Helicopter (Skyfall) - available from Amazon or other online hobby stores. Nicely detailed.

Airfix - Aston Martin DB5 - 1/32nd scale. Re-release in 2016 but not labeled as the James Bond car.

Failing that, look at the 134 James Bond Car Collection die-casts - most available on eBay. List available on Wikipedia.

Oh thanks Jim! I honestly forgot ‘Little Nellie’ but I didn’t know about most of those!

Three more that I forgot!

Airfix - Britten-Norman Islander - as seen in “Spectre.” This kit is an earlier 1/72nd model Islander and will need a little work. It’s also OOP and only available through eBay, etc. I picked up one for $15 on Etsy.

Arii - BD-5J Micro Jet - “Octopussy.” 1/72nd scale and really small (about 1 1/2" long). Provided decals pretty much match the aircraft seen in the movie. Currently OOP but may still be available from some Japanese on-line stores.

Heller - Bae Harrier T.4 - “The Living Daylights” 1/72nd. I think it’s OOP.

And as a bonus . . .

Bird One with Gemini

Still waiting on my kit to arrive from HLJ. It mailed on the 3rd. Must be the holiday rush.

Robiwon, wow the mail is sure taking their time on your package! SAL usually lands a box here in Hawaii in 11 days, EMS in 5. Must be the holiday cram. Hope you get your kit soon!

Thanks Jim, I’d forgotten about the Micro Jet and the Harrier from ‘TLD’ too. And I love that SPECTRE spacecraft snatcher!

Robiwon: I hope your order gets to you soon too, I’m sure it’s just stuck in the log-jam and will be headed to you after Christmas.

Jim - wow, I love that Spectre “gobbly croc” spacecraft!

Gamera - Hey I realized I have the Bede Microjet somewhere in the stash. But exactly where I know not. It was a 2-in-1 kit, where you could build one prop and one jet version. The Evergreen museum in Oregon had a prop version, and I was able to take a few photos. I had a hard time getting wheel well pics, as the plane is really close to the ground. A docent came over to see what I was doing lying on the ground, trying to wriggle under the plane!

Lol, G you should have told them you were changing the oil! [;)]

The Micro-Jet would be even cooler if you could find a horse trailer the same size…

AND half a horse!

Believe it or not, Corgi actually issued an Octopussy set with the Land Rover, Acrojet and horse trailer in HO/OO scale (1/76th). You flipped the lever on the front of the horse box and the back end of the trailer/horse rear spring up and eject the Acrojet.

Of course, it’s OOP and now goes for about $250!

Lol, I would have been a kid about that time, so I probably walked past a dozen or so in the department store looking for Legos and other stuff!

yup, me too.

As soon as I square up my CCs from holiday purchases, I’ll be getting one of these 007 sub kits for sure!

I just emailed HLJ letting them know it’s been 25 days since my kit “shipped” and that we are approching the 30 day max allowed time frame.

I got a reply from HLJ, they basically said its the busiest time of the year, the kit was shipped on the 4th, and to be patient it should show up soon. Fingers crossed for now. Huh, and I have my 22 inch MPC Eagle coming from them as well when it gets released.
